Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Nexamp is building internal tooling that helps move its sustainable energy future forward. In this hybrid role based in Boston, you will help deliver production software for internal financial modeling efforts, working across a modern React, Django, and Azure stack. Alongside hands-on development, you will collaborate closely with your squad and guide delivery through planning, reviews, demos, and retrospectives.

This Senior Full Stack Software Engineer position is designed for someone with 7+ years of full stack experience who can take ownership of design decisions and create maintainable patterns across the stack.

What you’ll do

• Deliver measurable change: Internalize shared objectives and translate them into outcomes for Nexamp and customers.
• Build and deploy production software: Design, implement, and deploy reliable, efficient applications across React/Django/Azure.
• Strengthen team execution: Collaborate in sprint planning, execution, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives to improve how the team delivers.
• Own maintainable architecture: Lead design decisions across the stack and establish scalable patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Mentor and elevate others: Guide more junior developers through mentorship and close collaboration.

What you bring

• Experience: 7+ years of full stack software development experience at companies with 10 or more developers.
• Domain advantage: Experience building financial forecasting software is a plus.
• Frontend: Experience building and optimizing consumer-facing applications in React and TypeScript.
• Backend: Experience developing and optimizing web-based solutions in modern Python, ideally with Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks.
• Web and infrastructure depth: Robust understanding of web standards and infrastructure components including databases, storage, caching, content delivery, and cloud platform offerings.
• Collaboration and communication: Ability to communicate with users and business stakeholders to facilitate software and process requirements.
• Debugging and independence: Leverage debugging expertise and demonstrate a track record of independently solving problems.
• Data: Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Engineering workflow: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment, and infrastructure tools such as Terraform.
• AI tools: Understanding of cutting edge AI tools and a commitment to using them to deliver high-quality software rapidly.

Compensation

• Estimated salary range: USD 170,000 - 190,000 per year.
• Base salary may vary based on skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
