Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack
Job Description
VoltaGrid is building and evolving a SaaS ERP-like platform that supports both internal teams and external customers. As a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack based in Houston, TX (onsite), you will help expand cloud-native capabilities across full-stack applications, APIs, and event-driven systems.
The role centers on modern AWS architecture and delivering reliable software through distributed agile collaboration, with a strong focus on shipping and maintaining production deployments.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with a distributed agile development team to deliver software incrementally.
- Design and engineer solutions using AWS Services including Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Build event-driven applications and APIs using TypeScript and Golang.
- Develop front-end applications using React.
- Deploy and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CDK, and SST.
- Use Git for version control and participate in CI/CD workflows, including submitting code reviews and providing feedback on clarity, feature completion, and best practices.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Work independently while maintaining strong communication and professional curiosity.
- Partner with other engineers to build innovative solutions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot systems and deployments.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Expert proficiency in either TypeScript or Go.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working independently.
- Expert understanding of cloud-native services, patterns, and AWS best practices.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- A strong sense of ownership and codebase stewardship.
- Enthusiasm for a startup-like environment and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Natural curiosity and excitement for learning new technologies.

- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience developing or enhancing CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).
- Experience with RPC-based APIs such as tRPC or gRPC.
- Experience integrating services and applications with LLMs and other AI-based technologies.
