Job Description
Trane Technologies is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer to support Thermo King by designing, developing, and optimizing web and mobile solutions for a connected product ecosystem. This onsite role in Minneapolis emphasizes backend development with Java and Spring Boot on Microsoft Azure, along with frontend development using Next.js.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize web and mobile solutions that support a connected product ecosystem.
- Architect scalable, secure microservices on Azure using Spring Boot and Java.
- Build user experiences with Next.js.
- Advance a cloud-native IoT platform.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on backend development experience, including significant Java and Spring Boot work in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Java Spring Boot and Azure technologies.
- Significant experience building production-grade frontend applications using Next.js and the React ecosystem.
- Demonstrated track record architecting distributed, multi-tenant microservices solutions.
- Advanced backend development skills with a strong focus on Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and deploying RESTful and Graph APIs with Java Spring Boot, integrated with Azure services.
- Expertise with Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Storage, and Azure Logic Apps.
- Deep understanding of identity and authentication using Azure AD B2C and OAuth flows.
- Experience with serverless computing, event-driven architecture, and message-based systems using Event Grid and Service Bus.
- Familiarity with both relational (Azure SQL) and non-relational (Cosmos DB, MongoDB) databases.
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)).
- CI/CD and DevOps familiarity, including Azure DevOps tools such as Azure Pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- Advanced skills building modern web applications with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, including responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with Azure-hosted and Java Spring Boot backend APIs and services.
- Experience implementing secure authentication flows, including Single Sign-On and token-based authentication.
- Experience implementing multitenant SaaS architectures, including tenant isolation, scalability, and data partitioning.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and cloud infrastructure best practices.
- Deep expertise in Azure compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring, and cost optimization, including developing, deploying, and scaling applications in Azure.
- Knowledge of cloud-native application patterns and Azure resource management.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, and Terraform for Azure.
- Strong understanding of Azure security best practices, identity, and access management.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (for example, GDPR and HIPAA) using Azure services and secure coding practices.
- Ability to monitor, analyze, and optimize Azure-based backend performance for Java/Spring Boot services, including diagnosing bottlenecks for reliable, high-availability systems.
- Experience building and scaling IoT applications using the Azure IoT suite, including IoT Hub, Device Provisioning, and Time Series Insights.
- Familiarity with UI/UX design collaboration tools such as Figma and Sketch.
- Exposure to billing/subscription management for SaaS and implementing secure user authentication/authorization flows.
- Relevant certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate, or equivalent Azure certifications; and Oracle Certified Professional: Java, or equivalent Java/Spring Boot certifications.
