Senior Software Engineer - Backend

This role is focused on backend engineering for an external booking API, with ownership of API design and ongoing technical decisions. You will build and evolve transactional workflows across Node.js services, using Postgres on AWS, and work onsite in New York with a schedule of Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

• Own API design and day-to-day technical decisions for an external booking API
• Build transactional workflows including inventory constraints, idempotency, concurrency, webhooks, and failure recovery
• Evolve booking domain and data models to support multiple product categories and integrations
• Work onsite in NYC on a Monday-Thursday schedule from 9:30am to 5:30pm

Required Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience using Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Postgres and AWS (bonus: Datadog, Redis, Kafka)
• Enjoys owning systems end-to-end and establishing patterns for other engineers
• Able to be in New York 4 days per week

Compensation and Benefits

USD 190,000 - 210,000 per year plus Technical Ownership, Training Stipend, Progression, and Stock Options.
