Senior Software Engineer

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. is building advanced digital capabilities through its Digital Solutions platform, supporting use cases across AI, analytics, and autonomous inspection of infrastructure facilities. This onsite role in Freedom, PA focuses on leading and executing full-stack development while providing technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, including streaming, defect diagnosis, and CI/CD-driven integration and deployment.

Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead and perform advanced software development for the Digital Solutions platform. The position includes overseeing development from discovery through performance maintenance, with hands-on work that spans real-time and post-processed media streaming and the integration of machine learning models and analytics into the product.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement platform features across the full development stack.
• Engage in all phases of the software lifecycle, from discovery through performance maintenance.
• Develop real-time and post-processed streaming modules for text, images, and video.
• Collaborate with AI, Power Systems, and Computer Vision Engineers to incorporate machine learning models and analytics.
• Identify and diagnose production software defects, then develop and implement defect solutions.
• Provide technical estimates for user stories, including technical risks and assumptions.
• Participate in application and database performance tuning and defect resolution.
• Provide mentoring and conduct code reviews for other developers.
• Apply deep understanding of CI/CD processes and work with global software teams to integrate and deploy solutions in the Americas.
• Coordinate with team members to maintain a consistent focus on delivering quality work on time.
• Support the goals and positive image of the Power-I Department through timely and cooperative business with other MEPPI departments, customers, and suppliers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related technical degree with minimum 5-7 years of experience in advanced software development, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of modern software development tools used for autonomous monitoring applications.
• Advanced understanding of video stream principles, media packaging, and encoding technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of internet technologies and services, including basic network components and internet protocols and configurations.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for interacting with customers, employees, and suppliers.
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in multicultural environments, with an emphasis on Japanese culture.
