Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
Walmart is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Bellevue, WA for an onsite role focused on delivering scoped features and services through collaborative engineering teams. In this position, you will build and maintain high-quality software, integrate AI and ML capabilities, and help strengthen operational excellence through monitoring and debugging.
What you’ll do
- Own delivery of scoped features and model work end to end, including implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support with collaborative teams.
- Write clean, efficient, reliable code across multiple languages and drive the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI and ML components to improve software intelligence by leveraging internal and external APIs.
- Translate high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement through proactive testing and observability.

Minimum qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area, plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 5 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background creating inclusive digital experiences, including knowledge of implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices aligned with Walmart accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
Compensation and location
Salary: USD 108,000 to 216,000 per year.
