Job Description

DornerWorks is seeking a Senior Mobile Application Developer to design, build, and deploy mobile solutions for medical and IoT products. This hybrid role in Grand Rapids, MI centers on delivering native or cross‑platform apps for iOS and Android, while collaborating across design and engineering teams and engaging directly with customers to guide development and showcase outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy mobile applications for iOS and Android using native languages (Swift, Kotlin/Java) and/or cross‑platform tools (Flutter, React Native).
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to deliver seamless customer solutions.
  • Interface directly with customers to guide the development process.
  • Build and nurture business relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Provide detailed work estimates for new business proposals.
  • Showcase project milestones and highlights for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional mobile development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proficient at picking up new platforms for mobile app development and deployment.
  • Ability to work independently on mobile programming with minimal input.
  • Comfort interfacing with customers to discuss features and demonstrate progress.
  • Ability to identify tasks at project start, outline steps, and create customer proposals.
  • Capability to refine scope and estimates for immediate next steps to align with budgets and guide the team.
  • Strong team‑oriented communication, anticipating what colleagues need to know and how work integrates with others.

Salary Information

The listed annual salary range is a guideline used for hiring decisions, with compensation reflecting experience and skill specialization.

  • Early career engineer: $62,000 – $95,000
  • Mid–level career engineer: $95,000 – $118,000
  • Advanced career engineer: $118,000 – $156,000
