Job Description

Build and deliver native iOS experiences as a technical expert on a large-scale mobile development project. This onsite role at a client site supports a team delivering functional, scalable, maintainable iOS applications while leveraging established design patterns such as MVP and MVVM. You will work in an Agile environment, contribute to architecture and design documentation, and integrate mobile apps with centralized authentication. The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA and offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,800 - 156,700 per year.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver sound, high quality technical components across the mobile application.
  • Analyze and estimate the amount of work for each sprint or release.
  • Review enterprise architecture and current state, then create roadmaps for future enhancements.
  • Develop native iOS application code in coordination with team members.
  • Integrate iOS applications with a centralized authentication application.
  • Create architecture and documentation including Software Architecture Document, High Level and Low Level Design, and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Operate in Agile and adapt to changing business needs and requirements.
  • Stay hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and with high quality.
  • Collaborate with BA/QA to support test plans and ensure issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.
  • Ensure design patterns like MVP and MVVM are followed.
  • Groom the team and contribute customer-centric ideas and innovation to help raise organizational benchmarks.
  • Escalate issues and concerns to leads in a timely manner to protect timelines.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and requirements analysis.
  • Apply technology and domain knowledge to deliver components and integrations.
  • Triages and analyzes production support problems, including situations requiring consideration of multiple factors.

Key requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with mobile development.
  • 5+ years of iOS app development using Swift, Swift UI, and Objective-C.
  • Strong object-oriented background.
  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation.
  • Proficiency with Xcode for coding, debugging, and deploying iOS apps.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, performance tuning, and mobile memory management.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and connecting iOS applications to backend services.
  • Familiarity with app architecture patterns MVC, MVP, and MVVM.
  • 4+ years integrating with RESTful APIs and JSON.
  • Knowledge of web technologies and UI/UX standards.
  • Understanding of Apple design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience with XCTestFramework and XCUITestFramework.
  • Strong component and unit testing practices.
  • Strong Agile/Scrum development experience and on-time delivery with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for distributed project teams, including excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of biometric authentication and device capabilities such as Camera, Phone state, Location, Notifications, and permissions management.

Note: CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range. A reasonable estimate for the U.S. is $70,800.00 - $156,700.00.

Position location: This role is located at the client site five days a week in Pittsburgh, PA.
