Senior Mainframe Developer

This senior level position at Citi is based onsite in Jacksonville, FL, and focuses on designing and deploying new or revised mainframe applications in collaboration with the Technology team, while leading applications analysis and programming efforts.

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00 per year

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple management teams to align functional integrations with business goals, identifying system enhancements needed to launch new products and drive process improvements
• Tackle high impact and complex program issues by thoroughly evaluating business and system processes and applying industry standards
• Apply deep expertise in applications development to ensure designs align with the overall architecture blueprint
• Leverage advanced knowledge of system flow to establish coding, testing, debugging, and deployment standards
• Build comprehensive understanding of how architecture and infrastructure interact to achieve business objectives
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Act as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, coordinating workload as needed
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi's reputation and asset protection by ensuring compliance with laws and policies, applying ethical judgment, and transparently escalating and managing control issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of IBM mainframe development experience
• Experience building batch and online programs in Cobol
• Familiarity with IBM utilities and mainframe tools and data structures such as Fileaid, Rexx, JCL, CICS, Changeman, Github, Expediter, TSO/ISPF, VSAM, and DB2
• 2+ years of experience using AI tools such as Devin AI and CoPilot
• Extensive experience in system analysis and software application programming
• Proven history of managing and delivering successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Minimum experience: 2 years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
