Mainframe Developer

Infosys is seeking a Mainframe Developer in Austin, TX (onsite) to help deliver dependable software across the full SDLC. This role supports system stability through thoughtful design, disciplined coding, thorough testing, and clear documentation so teams can move faster with fewer surprises.

What you’ll do

• Support requirements elicitation by documenting assigned portions of business requirements according to provided guidance
• Participate in software application design discussions and record design decisions to align the technical team on implementation approach
• Contribute to coding by integrating new features and updates into existing applications, with an emphasis on maintaining system stability
• Perform code reviews, make codebase changes, and maintain code repositories
• Develop and execute test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug fixes to maintain software quality standards
• Create user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to enable smooth transitions to new software applications
• Take part in production issue resolution and recommend preventive strategies to improve system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to build a knowledge base for similar projects
