Senior Developer / Lead Developer

Hybrid Senior/Lead Developer role in Allentown, PA requiring three days in the office per week, focused on designing, building, and testing software across modern stacks while collaborating with business and technology teams, with potential emergency duties.

Responsibilities

• Continuously deepen expertise in emerging technologies and software delivery practices.
• Partner with business users, systems analysts, developers, and ecosystem partners to move ideas from concept to scalable deployment.
• Support analysis and research of new and existing products, processes, and workflow needs within business systems.
• Operate within an iterative Agile framework and contribute as a collaborative team member.
• Leverage emerging technologies to accelerate product and service launches through rapid prototyping and iterative methods.
• Demonstrate a track record of taking prototypes into production while following engineering best practices.
• Develop, configure, or customize technical solutions including reusable components, preconfigured solutions, and cloud services.
• Collaborate closely with the System Architect and multiple technology teams to promote pattern and platform adoption that supports the solution architecture.
• Oversee automation and monitor application integration as code advances through build and test phases.
• May be assigned to Electric Utilities emergencies and storms, which may require after-hours work during severe events affecting customer service.
• Employer reserves the right to assign on-site, remote, or hybrid work arrangements, with location potentially changing; on-site presence may be required for coordination.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience.
• Background in software development with proficiency in one or more languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, among others.
• Experience building websites using frontend frameworks like Angular and React.
• Experience developing APIs, working with JSON, and strong SQL skills.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for shaping the future through digital technology.
• Familiarity with current technologies, trends, standards, products, and their applicability.
• Ability to adapt to rapid technological and business change while maintaining energy and sound judgment.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills to develop technology solutions quickly.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to unblock critical issues during product development.
• Experience with SAP S/4Hana.
• 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience with SAP ABAP.
• Master's Degree in relevant technology/industry areas.
• Ability to collaborate with team members across different functional domains and technologies.
• Working knowledge of emerging technologies such as Microservices, DevOps, Multi-Cloud technologies, IoT, Intelligent Automation, RPA, Test automation, AI, etc.
• Working knowledge of containerizing applications and hosting in Kubernetes clusters, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to spin up and configure development and test environments.
• Utilities industry experience.
• Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
