Senior Developer - Good Sam AI

Good Sam AI is building new applications at extreme speed, using AI coding tools as a primary production workflow rather than relying on hand-coding every line. In this Senior Developer role, you will combine full-stack engineering with AI orchestration, directing models to generate, review, and harden code so it can ship as production-ready features during rapid War Room sprints.

This onsite position is located in Lincolnshire, IL and offers a pay range of $91,800 - $140,700 per year.

What you will do

• Use AI coding tools such as Claude and Claude Code to write, refactor, and test code across the full stack.
• Convert product requirements into precise prompts, specs, and AI agent instructions that result in production-ready code.
• Rapidly prototype, build, and ship new applications within compressed War Room sprints, commonly measured in days.
• Review, validate, and harden AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability before release.
• Orchestrate multi-step and multi-agent AI workflows to complete end-to-end feature builds, including design, code, test, and deploy.
• Collaborate in real time with product owners, designers, and other War Room engineers to resolve ambiguity and keep delivery unblocked.
• Maintain architecture, coding, and integration standards as delivery speed increases.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI coding tools and models, adopting those that improve speed, quality, or reliability.

What you bring

• Strong full stack development, with a backend-leaning focus (such as Node and Java), enabling you to read, debug, and extend AI-generated code confidently.
• Proficiency with database technologies including SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Solid understanding of integration patterns and design principles.
• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.
• Hands-on experience directing AI coding assistants (including Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor) to generate and modify production code.
• Demonstrated ability in prompt engineering and writing technical specifications that AI tools can execute reliably.
• Comfort operating in a high-speed, iteration-heavy delivery model with minimal ceremony.
