Python/Java Developer

TEKsystems is hiring a mid-level Software Engineer to develop and enhance a critical real-time financial platform supporting real-time payment processing. The role focuses on highly reliable Java and Python solutions and on modernizing applications toward cloud-native platforms using AWS, containers and Kubernetes, automation, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain highly reliable software supporting real-time payment processing.
• Write clean, maintainable Java code in line with client quality standards and secure coding practices.
• Build software components using enterprise Java frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot.
• Develop Python scripts and programs for data automation, analysis, and integration services.
• Develop and maintain services, APIs, application components, and automated test frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and engineering design activities.
• Support monitoring, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root-cause analysis.
• Assist with modernization efforts, including migration toward cloud-native platforms.
• Build on AWS cloud platforms using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Work with containerized applications and Kubernetes environments for component-based releases.
• Contribute to microservices architectures and distributed systems initiatives.
• Support highly available and highly reliable systems used for financial transaction processing.
• Apply CI/CD practices for automated building, testing, and deployment of high-quality software.
• Use approved AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, documentation, and continuous quality improvement in accordance with enterprise controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of Java software development experience across analysis, design, development, documentation, implementation, and testing of software systems.
• Experience developing Python scripts and programs for data management, automation, and analysis.
• Exposure to AWS or another major public cloud provider.
• Familiarity with cloud-native application architectures, microservices, containers, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and automated software build and deployment processes.

Compensation

• Pay range: $95,000 - $142,000 per year
• Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
