Project Manager/Software Developer

Bergen’s Promise Inc is seeking a hybrid, on-site Temp to Perm part-time Project Manager/Software Developer to support technology and program initiatives. The role reports to the IT Director and combines project coordination with hands-on development of internal tools, scripts, and web applications.

Role Overview

This part-time position typically supports 15–25 hours per week. The primary focus is planning and coordinating technology-related work across stakeholders while also building and maintaining the software and automation components required to deliver project outcomes.

The candidate will contribute to project planning, status tracking, risk management, and documentation for audits and grant reporting, alongside designing and deploying internal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate across departments and stakeholders, run status meetings, and maintain project trackers.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for technology and process-improvement initiatives.
• Identify risks and resolve blockers before they impact deadlines.
• Document processes and maintain project records for audits and grant reporting.
• Design, build, test, and deploy internal tools, scripts, or web applications using the specified stack (including Power Automate, PowerShell, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, and web frameworks).
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing systems and integrations.
• Write clean, documented code and maintain version control.
• Support data migrations, automations, and reporting tools.
• Provide light technical support and training to staff using tools built for them.
• Track and support delivery outcomes using measurable indicators including on-time milestone completion, budget adherence, code quality and uptime, stakeholder satisfaction, and documentation completeness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science.
• 1–2 years of Project Management experience.
• 1–2 years of software development experience.
• 1–2 years of Power Platform experience.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Physical effort involving driving, lifting office supplies, and lifting client files.
• Experience working with general office equipment, a vehicle, communication devices, and a computer.

The work environment is a general office setting with a flexible schedule. Standard days and hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening and/or weekend work as job duties require.

Location: Hackensack, NJ (hybrid; on-site required).
Job Type: Part time (Temp to Perm).
Typical Hours: 15–25 hours/week.
Compensation: USD 30–30 per hourly.
