Power BI Developer
Job Description
Innovative Analytic Solutions is seeking a Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that support data driven decision making. The role requires a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in BI development, data warehousing, and ETL, with familiarity in cloud based data solutions and exposure to AWS, Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, Spark, and Looker within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and refine Power BI dashboards and reports to clearly visualize complex datasets.
- Architect scalable data models and schemas using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational databases.
- Build robust ETL pipelines with Informatica, Talend, and shell scripting to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources including Hadoop and Apache Hive.
- Consolidate data from multiple sources such as Linked Data, RESTful APIs, and cloud services like AWS and Azure Data Lake.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to capture requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Support model training and analytics efforts using Python, VBA, Bash, and other scripting languages.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance throughout development activities.
- Participate in Agile development cycles to deliver incremental value while maintaining high quality standards.
Requirements
Minimum five years of relevant experience in BI development, data warehousing, and ETL is required.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI dashboard development and visualization best practices.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server, Oracle databases, and data warehouse architecture.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and Apache Hive.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure Data Lake.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Informatica and Talend; scripting skills in Shell Scripting (Bash), Python, and VBA are highly desirable.
- Understanding of RESTful API integration for data ingestion.
- Experience with Looker or similar BI tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of database design principles and analytics methodologies.
- Ability to work within Agile teams with strong collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical abilities complemented by technical expertise in model training and data analysis techniques.
