Job Description
The Power BI Developer will design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions. The role focuses on delivering analytics through data integration, strong modeling practices, and support for Agile-driven SDLC delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to address evolving business needs.
- Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to collect requirements and translate them into clear, actionable data visualizations.
- Integrate data from multiple environments, including SQL databases, Oracle, Talend, and linked data sources, to build comprehensive analytical models.
- Perform data modeling, database design, and query management to improve performance and maintain data accuracy.
- Conduct requirements analysis and contribute to analytics project delivery across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Use ETL tools such as Talend and scripting languages including Python, R, Bash (Unix shell), and VBA for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Apply Agile project management practices to deliver solutions that align with changing business priorities.
- Create detailed documentation using Visio (or similar tools) for process flows, system architecture, and dashboard specifications.
- Support integration of Linked Data and Looker to expand cross-platform analytics capabilities.
- Continuously learn new analytics tools and techniques to increase reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Proven experience building Power BI dashboards and reports; experience with Tableau is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, with skills in query management and database design.
- Proficiency with analytics and data processing tools, including R, Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), Talend, and Looker.
- Solid understanding of business intelligence concepts, including dashboard development, reporting tools, data visualization, and analysis.
- Experience working within SDLC and applying Agile methodologies in project environments.
- Ability to analyze complex requirements using effective business analysis techniques; excellent analysis skills are required.
- Familiarity with linked data concepts for integrating disparate datasets across platforms.
- Strong project management skills focused on requirements analysis and delivering high-quality solutions on time.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
