Mid-Level Software Engineer
Job Description
Mid-Level full stack software engineer role supporting Leidos Chinook Program for an Intelligence Community customer, delivering cloud-native software across microservices, APIs, and user interfaces within an Agile DevSecOps workflow.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy software solutions that support the GEOINT mission for the customer.
- Engage in agile sprints, contributing to daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
- Develop and maintain secure, containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Create RESTful APIs and modern user interfaces with frameworks such as React, Node.js, Flask, or Sprint Boot.
- Collaborate with mission users and product managers to clarify requirements and enhance user experience.
- Support DevSecOps pipelines and ensure code aligns with security and accreditation standards.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers when needed.
- Address tasks as prioritized by the product owner.
Requirements
- US citizenship is required per contract.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a Polygraph examination.
- Proficiency with the following technologies:
- HTML, CSS, JSON, Ajax, and REST APIs
- Python, Java, or JavaScript

- React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Spring Boot, Django, Node.js, Flask, or Sprint Boot
- AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server

- Git
- Deep understanding of modern software design patterns and coding standards
- Experience architecting, developing, and delivering complex software systems into production
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and agile collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS (C2S or GovCloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of secure coding practices and government system accreditation processes (e.g., RMF, STIGs)
- Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques
