Lead Java Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and contribute to the full software development lifecycle for cloud-based enterprise applications in a fast-paced, distributed setting.
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks; integrate REST and SOAP services, API Gateways, and relational databases to deliver scalable, high-performance systems while meeting performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability goals.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code, adhere to industry best practices and design patterns, conduct code reviews, guide peers, and drive continuous improvement in development standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including production support and performance bottlenecks; optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate across QA, DevOps, Product, and Business teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Jira, Confluence, Git) to deliver quality software on time.
• Stay current with evolving technologies, including AI assisted development practices, and recommend improvements to tools, frameworks, and engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Eight or more years of software development experience building high-performance, reliable, and scalable enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on work with MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and APM tools with emphasis on log analytics.
• Experience with Apache Camel and RabbitMQ.
• Data pipelines, AWS services, and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes and microservices design and implementation experience.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with critical thinking skills, plus excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced distributed environment and collaborate effectively with teams focused on quality and maintainability.
• Interest in sustainability and making a meaningful environmental impact.

Preferred Experience

• Frontend web technologies with Angular experience is a plus
