Learn beyond Consulting is hiring a Java Lead for the CCB Ramp/Surge initiative in an onsite, fast-paced enterprise environment. This hands-on leadership role focuses on guiding engineering delivery, shaping microservices architecture, and partnering with stakeholders to keep priorities aligned across teams. The position is based in Columbus, OH (onsite), with relocation support available. Hourly pay is $62.66 - $75.47.
What you’ll do
In this 603-level Java lead capacity, you will lead day-to-day execution while setting the engineering direction for a microservices-based product effort.
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, guiding daily activities and delivery expectations
- Define team standards, engineering practices, and collaboration approach
- Drive design and development of scalable microservices-based applications
- Anticipate and manage cross-team dependencies to support timely delivery
- Partner with stakeholders to align on priorities, compliance standards, and SLAs
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and high performance
What you bring
- 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
- Proven experience working with AWS cloud technologies
- Prior tech lead / team lead experience managing engineers
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of Automation and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong understanding of Application resiliency & security
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Domain exposure to Financial Services / Banking systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Technology focus
- Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
- AWS cloud technologies including EC2, S3, and Lambda
- CI/CD pipelines and Automation and DevOps practices
- Agile delivery
Location and work setup
This role is onsite in Columbus, OH, with options listed for Plano, TX or Houston, TX. Relocation works, and the work location is in person.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong understanding of OOP principles & design patterns
- Ability to write clean, scalable, maintainable Java code
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda
- Cloud-native application development experience
