Job Description
Brightly is seeking a Lead Developer to steer a compact delivery squad from Michigan, with flexible remote options. This hands-on leadership role blends direct coding with delivery coordination, leveraging Java with Spring Boot on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend, with a preference for healthcare domain experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead development initiatives while continuing to contribute code directly
- Build and maintain applications using Java with Spring Boot on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend
- Coordinate day-to-day activities for a small delivery team
- Engage directly with client stakeholders to align priorities and expectations
- Shape technical decisions, architecture, and implementation approaches
- Uphold high standards for code quality, performance, and scalability
- Support API design, integrations, and overall system architecture
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure smooth sprint execution
- Mentor developers and foster a collaborative team environment
- Identify and mitigate risks, blockers, and delivery challenges
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Proven track record in a lead or senior developer role
- Strong expertise in Java with Spring Boot and modern backend development
- Solid experience with Vue.js or comparable modern front-end frameworks
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices
- Strong understanding of software architecture and system design
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Ability to balance hands-on development with team coordination
- Professional Level Developer with 5 years of experience or more (Required)
