LabVIEW Developer
Job Description
Onsite in Camas, WA, this role focuses on creating, enhancing, and supporting LabVIEW applications that control manufacturing and test equipment for high power laser builds.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain LabVIEW applications that interface with and control manufacturing and test equipment used to build high power lasers
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT to clarify requirements and deliver projects on schedule
- Create thorough documentation for software processes and end-user instructions
- Adhere to software design standards including abstraction, object oriented programming, design patterns, and change control
- Support and improve existing LabVIEW software
- Provide hands-on support for the manufacturing line, including occasional after-hours remote assistance
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and sensitive data per company policies
- Troubleshoot automation issues to root cause and implement corrective actions
- Implement monitoring and diagnostics such as logging, error handling, and alarms to reduce downtime
- Integrate automation with company databases
- Deploy and release software to production, including build packaging, installers, versioning, and rollback
- Validate changes prior to release with test plans, dry runs, and basic verification/acceptance with Manufacturing
- Comply with US export control requirements and technology control procedures when handling technical data, software, and test information
- Escalate potential compliance issues to appropriate internal teams in a timely manner
- Report to the IT Software Manager
Requirements
- 1+ years of LabVIEW programming experience
- Collaborative, team-oriented working style
- B.S. in engineering or a related scientific field (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Track record of driving projects to completion
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment
