Job Description

Citi’s Prime Finance division is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to support end-to-end development and ongoing enhancement of the Prime Sequel Platform and its P&L allocation engine. The role is centered on building scalable, high-performing, and robust systems, while working closely with project teams to deliver critical financial capabilities in New York, NY.

This full-time position is based onsite and offers a salary range of USD 121,200 - 181,800 per year. You will partner across business and technology groups to turn complex requirements into well-architected solutions, while also mentoring teammates and helping manage technical risk with a strong focus on compliance and transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable application systems and programs for the Prime Sequel Platform, aligned with strategic technology initiatives.
  • Run in-depth feasibility studies, analyze complex technical and business challenges, and propose solutions that improve system functionality and business processes.
  • Oversee software development lifecycle activities from analysis and design through construction, testing, and implementation to support timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Provide user and operational support to business users for relevant applications.
  • Use deep application development expertise to make evaluative judgments, recommend security measures, and contribute to post-implementation analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, and senior managers to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
  • Consult with users and other technology groups, offering advanced programming insights and support.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and essential procedures.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and coach to junior team members to support continuous learning and development.
  • Operate independently with strong judgment, owning critical initiatives and driving them to completion.
  • Proactively assess and manage technical risks, maintaining commitment to regulatory compliance, ethical judgment, and transparent reporting of control issues.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications, including a record of delivering successful projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Java application technologies, including deep experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development), the Spring framework, and Microservices architecture.
  • Solid understanding and experience with SQL.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments.
  • Experience with job scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques and methods with a focus on agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with global teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Nice to Have
