Job Description

Northwest Helicopters LLC is offering a full‑time, on‑site role in Olympia, WA that blends administrative support with hands‑on development. You will maintain and enhance a Google Apps Script powered web application to support daily operations and advance the company’s Google Workspace adoption. This is a 100% in‑office position with a competitive hourly range of $23–$27. Start as soon as practical.

Responsibilities

  • Continue building and refining an existing Google Apps Script web application that supports core operations
  • Maintain and expand a substantial internal business system featuring flight scheduling, quote generation, flight grid and calendar views, maintenance requests and approvals, dispatch workflows, post‑flight submissions, customer records, and tools for assigning pilots, drivers, ground crew, and tracking employee calendars and time off
  • Collaborate with staff to capture remaining requirements, clarify workflows, and translate operational needs into practical software features
  • Write, update, test, and debug code using JavaScript, Google Apps Script, HTML/CSS, with Google Sheets serving as the data layer
  • Keep the codebase modular and organized while pursuing improvements in reliability, performance, and usability
  • Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and apply thoughtful fixes
  • Support user testing, rollout preparations, process documentation, and ongoing maintenance
  • Ensure alignment of the application and workflows with the company’s ongoing Google Workspace adoption
  • Utilize modern development tools and workflows such as VS Code, Git, PowerShell or terminal queries, logging, and performance diagnostics
  • Assist with the continued transition to Google Workspace and enhance internal workflows using these tools when appropriate
  • Help staff make effective use of Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Calendar
  • Identify opportunities where Workspace tools, automation, or Apps Script can reduce manual work and improve consistency
  • Document and support Google-based processes as they are adopted across the company
  • Provide professional front desk support, including answering phones and assisting callers
  • Assist with credit card / VISA reconciliations, filing, and document organization
  • Order office supplies, sort and deliver mail, and create basic office materials as needed
  • Provide general office and administrative support and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Calendar in a business setting
  • Strong working knowledge of JavaScript
  • Solid spreadsheet and database thinking, including structured data, column-based records, lookups, validation, and workflow logic
  • Experience building, maintaining, or trouble‑shooting internal tools, business applications, automations, or data‑driven systems
  • Ability to read and navigate an existing codebase, understand how pieces connect, and make careful changes without breaking dependent workflows
  • Strong problem solving and debugging capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across organizational levels
  • Ability to gather business requirements from non technical staff and translate them into clear, practical solutions
  • Highly organized, dependable, and proactive
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and workloads
