Job Description

Build complex, modern front-end systems for mission-focused applications with General Dynamics Information Technology in Chantilly, VA (onsite). This role supports engineering growth through an AI-powered career tool, an internal mobility team, and a culture of innovation in a military-friendly workplace. You will design and enhance software products in an Agile environment, working with a small team of engineers and designers to deliver strong user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build modular, reusable front-end components aligned with system design patterns.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Participate in team design activities and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with a small team of engineers and designers to understand business requirements and user experience goals.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and application issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of related software development experience (8+ years may vary based on training, certification(s), or degree).
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph (Top Secret SCI + Polygraph required).
  • Extensive experience with Angular.
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience designing complex search interfaces.
  • Experience optimizing web applications for performance and usability.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs.
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with SASS or LESS.
  • Hands-on experience with NodeJS and MongoDB.
  • Familiarity constructing ElasticSearch queries.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: USD 140,821 - 190,523 per year.
