Job Description

This onsite role in Washington, DC offers a secure, collaborative environment for a back-end engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance. You will design, build, and maintain robust backend systems for critical applications in a controlled setting, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and secure software practices. The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 150,000 per year, and a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree. Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement secure backend services for modern web applications using standard frameworks and tools.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that enable seamless frontend-backend integration and support multi-model connections with Frontier AI platforms.
  • Produce clean, efficient, well-documented code that adheres to secure coding practices and established engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, frontend engineers, and other technical stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver new features.
  • Participate in peer code reviews to uphold code quality, identify improvement opportunities, and promote development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot issues, address backend performance bottlenecks, and enhance reliability and scalability across classified and unclassified environments.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging backend technologies, cloud capabilities, and advances in the generative AI landscape to drive ongoing innovation.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Strong experience building backend applications using Golang, Python, or comparable languages.
  • Experience with relational and / or NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of web application security, secure design, authentication methods, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
