Backend Software Engineer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation offers a contract role that concentrates on building AI training capabilities from the ground up. This position is fully remote and location flexible for eligible regions, with a schedule you control and the chance to influence how AI models learn. Based in Los Gatos, California, you will design, solve, and evaluate coding problems used to train AI systems, contributing directly to model improvement while maintaining a balanced workflow.

Responsibilities

• Design and solve a diverse set of coding problems used to train AI systems.
• Produce clear, high quality code snippets paired with thorough explanations.
• Evaluate AI generated code for correctness, performance, and readability.
• Provide feedback that informs the next generation of AI models.

Requirements

• Fluency in English at native or bilingual levels.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
• Excellent writing and grammar skills.
• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress).
• Previous experience as a Software Developer, Coder, Software Engineer, or Programmer is preferred.
