Senior Software Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
AfterQuery Experts is a research lab working on the boundaries of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation. They are hiring a Senior Software Engineer - AI Trainer to design and evaluate backend services, data modeling, and API design scenarios used by frontier AI labs.
This is a fully remote, asynchronous role based in Johns Creek, GA (remote), with a focus on reviewing model reasoning and producing detailed feedback to improve trustworthy training data. The work blends production-grade engineering judgment with careful evaluation of correctness, subtle failure modes, and audit-ready documentation.
What you will do
- Design challenging, realistic backend services, data modeling, and API design tasks grounded in production practice
- Evaluate model responses for correctness, sound reasoning, and subtle failure modes
- Document your reasoning clearly so another engineer can audit the judgment
What you bring
- Senior-level professional experience building backend services in production
- Strong SQL and schema design, plus caching and queueing patterns
- A track record of owning service reliability and performance
