Appian Developer
Job Description
BayNova LLC is seeking a remote Appian Developer to support a federal government client. The role centers on designing business logic and BPM based process flows, resolving defects, and optimizing the enterprise application, while collaborating with development, operations, security, and the customer to address requirements and improve user experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect tactical knowledge about bottlenecks or critical needs and devise rapid solutions to address those needs.
- Focus on business logic and process flows, designing and developing business logic, process models/flows, and UI screens for a BPM based system.
- Work closely with Business Analysts to investigate customer requirements, prototype business solutions, and validate user story acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure proper fixes, unit testing, and configuration management.
- Support operational patch build processes.
- Develop SQL, update data models, and implement common database best practices such as indexes, triggers, and data structures.
- Manage daily work in the Atlassian suite of applications (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo).
- Coordinate with DevOps team members to ensure timely and reliable releases to the customer.
- Ensure software maintains data integrity, security, and adherence to best practice standards.
- Prepare and maintain SDLC application documentation as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification required, with one of the following certifications at the time of hire or to be obtained within 6 months: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND or SSCP.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must pass a background investigation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Appian software development experience
- Current Appian credentials as Designer or Developer
- Experience in BPM (Appian, JBoss BPMS, Activiti, Oracle or IBM BPM, Pega, etc.)
- Experience with Splunk
- Knowledge of Appian software design, web development and design languages
- Understanding and hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Experience providing production support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Git and awareness of Git branching strategies
- Familiar with Oracle
- Have or be able to obtain after hire a CSSLP or an equivalent certification
- Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must pass a background investigation
