Application Developer

Visionist, Inc. is building mission-focused software tools for a fully FUNDED opportunity on its largest PRIME contract, supporting evolving operational needs. As an Application Developer on the Fort Meade, MD onsite team, you will help translate mission requirements into working prototypes and end-to-end toolsets, while contributing technical guidance and peer review to improve software quality.

What you’ll do

• Augment existing tools to support evolving operational requirements
• Derive, document, and analyze mission requirements
• Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of mission requirements
• Develop end-to-end toolsets capable of operating within mission constraints
• Provide technical consulting across software products and technologies, advising customers on operational direction
• Participate in peer code reviews to support software quality and collaboration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree)
• 6 years of experience in application development (4 years with an M.S. degree)
• Experience developing and modifying software systems using C, C++, and Python, including network programming
• Experience providing support for fielded software systems
• Experience coordinating and communicating with operators, analysts, developers, and users with varying technical knowledge to deliver finished products
• Experience with reverse engineering
• Familiarity with Git and Subversion
• Experience with Atlassian tools, including Confluence, Jira, and Bamboo

Compensation and schedule

• Salary: USD 135,000 - 195,000 per year
• Location: Fort Meade, MD (onsite)

Security clearance and eligibility

• Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
