Senior Application Engineer/Process Automation Developer-Distributed

Navy Federal Credit Union is hiring a Senior Application Engineer/Process Automation Developer to help implement, maintain, and support distributed intake channels, web services, and an Enterprise orchestration platform. This onsite role focuses on building reusable automations and workflow services that can be shared across clients and teams throughout the enterprise.

You will collaborate with technology teams to evolve processes as they onboard to orchestration capabilities or migrate into web applications. The work includes advancing orchestration practices over time and documenting solutions in a way that supports consistent adoption across the NFCU technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with technology teams to identify, reengineer, and modernize processes as they onboard to the orchestration environment or migrate to web applications.
• Design and implement highly available automation using orchestration platforms (preferably Open Text Operations Orchesorations), aligned with server, storage, database, and network technologies and NFCU standards.
• Advance the orchestration platform through evaluation and engineering, including adopting emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Automate and orchestrate repeatable administration tasks, improving reliability and reusability over time.
• Promote web application concepts and orchestration platform adoption within the NFCU environment across technology stacks and teams.
• Create thorough technical documentation, including diagrams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming.
• Experience developing and testing web applications.
• Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages and related technologies: Python, PHP, Java, PowerShell/PowerCLI, Perl, VBScript, Windows batch scripting, web services, and/or web APIs.
• Experience working with Windows.
• Database administration experience with MySQL, Oracle, DB2, and/or SQL Server.
• Experience performing data analysis.
• Ability to apply technical information to automation opportunities and present the process in customer-friendly terms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Solid understanding of ITIL principles and practices for large-scale, enterprise-wide service delivery, including incident, problem, change, configuration, and availability/continuity management.
• PHP 8+
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Experience integrating multiple data sources and databases into a single system
• Experience with SQL Query tools
• Microsoft Active Directory (LDAP technologies) and Microsoft IIS experience
• Current Windows Server experience, including managing clustered environments
• Linux experience, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Storage technologies experience including SAN, NAS, Replication and Backup
• Networking technologies knowledge including Layer 2/Layer 3 switching and routing, F5, GSLB, and load balancers
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal business processes and applications

Salary range: USD 115,600 - 181,200 per year.
