This hybrid position in Charlotte, NC supports modern engineering practices, trusted data pipelines, and continuous improvement through collaboration with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineering teams.
What you’ll do
As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, modernize, and support enterprise solutions that enable reporting and analytics. You will build scalable data pipelines and trusted data products using ETL/ELT approaches and Medallion Architecture principles, while ensuring solutions work across different environments, from on-premises systems to cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, modernize, and support enterprise data integration, analytics, and reporting across legacy, on-premises, and cloud platforms.
- Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineering teams to create scalable data pipelines and trusted data products using ETL/ELT and Medallion Architecture principles.
Required skills and experience
- 3+ years developing SQL-based data integration, transformation, and reporting solutions.
- 3+ years designing, developing, and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, or similar platforms.
- 3+ years experience with data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, or modern analytical data platforms.
- 1+ year experience with Microsoft Fabric or Databricks, including exposure to Lakehouse concepts, Apache Spark, Delta tables, data pipelines, and orchestration.
- 1+ year using GitHub, Azure DevOps, or other source control systems.
- 6+ months working in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban delivery frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred
- Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) certification is preferred.

You may work across SQL and Microsoft/Azure and lakehouse platforms, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT, and Medallion Architecture, as well as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
