Job Description

This full-time, on-site WordPress development role focuses on building and maintaining custom WordPress websites from Figma designs, with full-stack responsibilities spanning server, API, and database work for Catholic clients nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive, accessible WordPress sites from Figma design files
  • Create custom WordPress themes and plugins using Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Maintain existing WordPress installations for performance, security, and content updates
  • Integrate and maintain RESTful APIs, including OAuth and JSON structures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues across multiple sites
  • Support and manage web hosting environments, including Apache/Nginx, DNS, SSL, and backups
  • Optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL queries and design database schemas
  • Participate in weekly team standup meetings
  • Experience in UI/UX principles is preferred

Requirements

  • Experience using Gutenberg to build WordPress websites is required
  • Professional WordPress development experience with custom themes and plugins
  • Proficiency in HTML, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and responsive design
  • Strong PHP skills (Symfony is a plus) and database management with MySQL/PostgreSQL
  • Comfort working with Linux servers, cPanel/WHM, cron jobs, PHPMyAdmin, and SSL certificates
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
  • Experience documenting and integrating RESTful APIs (Postman/Swagger are helpful)
  • Understanding of web security best practices (e.g., SQL injection, XSS mitigation)
