UI/UX Developer Senior
Job Description
Senior UI/UX Developer opportunity with SAIC’s Land Border Integration team, supporting Customs and Border Protection by maintaining operational infrastructure in a hybrid agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and product team members using participatory design, creative brainstorming, and related techniques within an agile development team
- Deliver quality outcomes and timely releases that meet stakeholder needs and IT Accessibility Standards
- Map workflows and user paths; create storyboards, wireframes, mockups, and low and high-fidelity prototypes
- Write UI specifications to support development across multiple applications and platforms
- Design required visual assets including graphics, icons, and other UI elements
- Assess designs using user-centric methods such as UI reviews and cognitive walk-throughs
- Stay current on technology design and usability trends and share findings across teams
- Participate in working groups and stakeholder meetings to discuss user requirements and present wireframes and mockups
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, UX strategy, and usability research/testing
- U.S. Citizenship required, with ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
- Experience delivering code with modern JavaScript frameworks: VueJS, Angular, or React
- Experience building products that function across multiple browsers and platforms
- Experience using modern CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap to create responsive, mobile-aware experiences
- Experience delivering products aligned with Section 508 Accessibility standards
- Strong grasp of the website development lifecycle: discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing/evaluation
- Web design experience using: Figma, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium, Photoshop, XD, Dreamweaver, InDesign
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Agile experience and familiarity with DevOps tools such as Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
- Current holder of a DHS Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one; employment is contingent on having/obtaining the clearance prior to starting
