Technical Training Developer
Job Description
Hunter International, Inc is seeking a Technical Training Developer in Woodridge, IL for an onsite role. In this position, you will shape training for technical products and technologies by turning complex subject matter into clear, accurate learning experiences, while coordinating closely with engineers and subject matter experts.
You will be responsible for planning and building instruction end-to-end, from identifying training needs to creating course modules, multimedia materials, and assessments. The work also includes ongoing research, content validation, and documentation to support effective delivery and learner progress.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer needs and feedback to identify training requirements.
- Design course roadmaps that include a range of learning activities.
- Develop course modules, workbooks, and other training materials that are engaging and informative.
- Integrate multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and simulations.
- Ensure training content is accurate and aligned with product specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to understand product features and functionality.
- Conduct independent research on new technologies, perform on-vehicle validation, and help with lab creation.
- Translate complex technical language into clear, concise learning materials.
- Stay current on technical developments and industry trends.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to support knowledge retention.
- Tailor content to different learning styles and skill levels.
- Design assessments to measure learner progress and course effectiveness.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and graphic designers.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide progress updates and maintain clear documentation.
- Multitask, prioritize work, and manage time to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging technical content.
- Experience with eLearning development tools and platforms, including Articulate Storyline and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Passion for technology and the ability to translate complex information into learning experiences.
- Previous automotive or dealership hands-on experience preferred.
- Previous project management experience preferred.
