Systems Software Developer and Integrator (JSE)-Journeyman
Job Description
The position is a Journeyman level Systems Software Developer and Integrator (JSE) within AMEWAS, supporting Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. It is an on-site role at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD, with a salary range of USD 117,200 to 136,100 per year.
Responsibilities
- Incorporates software releases into the JSE development lifecycle and DevOps project structures
- Identifies JSE product dependencies and how they interact with other products
- Diagnoses and characterizes issues to enable resolution by development teams
- Conducts regular integration testing events and communicates test findings to multiple teams
- Produces and maintains integration test documentation
- Executes hotfix changes and builds to address critical issues
- Merges GitLab work into baseline development trunks
- Operates in a dynamic, edge-of-technology environment to support frontline warfighters
- Demonstrates flexibility, foresight and an understanding of impact on overall success
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field such as Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical or Electronic engineering; or six years of additional related work experience (nine years total) may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree
- Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Three years of relevant work experience
- Three years of experience coding with C++, Lua and/or Python
- Experience developing on Windows and Linux
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with Git and GitLab
- Experience troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software code
- Excellent personal communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible and energetic-paced environment
- Ability to learn quickly
- Willingness to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance, including potential Secret and Top Secret levels as contract needs
