Job Description

Build secure, scalable software supporting the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) program on Engagement and Track Management Agile Software Teams. This on-site role in Huntsville, Alabama gives you hands-on experience across design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging within a SAFe Agile environment, with the stability of a large organization and comprehensive support for your day-to-day wellbeing.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and software systems aligned with program objectives, including logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Participate in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Scrum teams to develop and maintain software products across multiple software baselines for the IBCS program.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments, collaborating across multiple organizational levels.
  • Perform software development and upgrades across multiple programming languages and versions while minimizing changes to the operational behavior of tactical software.
  • Support documentation creation and updates using Markdown and other collaboration tools.
  • Support testing activities, including unit and functional testing, code coverage analysis, and static code analysis, contributing to continuous improvement of test effectiveness and automation.

Requirements

  • Associate Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM field and 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong object-oriented software development experience with Java and C++.
  • Proficiency with Linux based development and runtime environments; experience with Bash and Python.
  • Experience with modern configuration management and source control tools, including Git and GitLab.
  • Experience with Agile SAFe and Atlassian Agile tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Citizenship and onsite work
