Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer role at ASRC Federal Mission Solutions supports the U.S. Navy's Aegis Weapons System development and sustainment in Huntsville, AL. The work includes agile development lifecycle activities focused on tactical systems software maintenance and upgrade solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team applying agile software development methodology to deliver software maintenance and upgrade solutions for tactical systems.
- Participate in activities across the software development lifecycle and support process requirements and reviews as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance.
- Obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorizations within the timeframe required by applicable contract(s).
- 5 to 7 years of experience in software development, maintenance, or support in an Open/Layered Architecture Environment and operating environments, including model-based tools, Information Assurance, tools development, safety analysis, real-time system data analysis, problem analysis, and system integration.
- Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience developing software using Agile scaled principles.
- Experience with object-oriented design/development, including the use of design patterns to support software insulation techniques and plugins.
- Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments.
- Strong skills with integrated development environments such as Eclipse.
- Familiarity with UML syntax and its application.
- Familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.
