Staff / Sr Staff C++ Software Engineer

SciTec seeks a Staff or Senior Staff C++ Software Engineer to contribute to next generation missile warning software, with a focus on image analysis, low latency data processing, and robust detection and tracking algorithms. The position operates within a small, Agile team and encompasses prototyping, development, integration, and testing of advanced software solutions for government programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate novel algorithms to exploit data from remote sensors
• Enhance high throughput algorithms underpinning image analysis, detection, and tracking efforts
• Demonstrate fluent, idiomatic C++ programming and contribute to software design and architecture decisions
• Collaborate within an Agile team and contribute to shared tools and workflows
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
• Additional education may substitute for years of professional experience
• Minimum five years of professional software experience and fluency in C++
• At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systems
• Solid knowledge of data structures
• Ability to optimize processing for high data throughput
• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work full-time in person at the Boulder, CO office
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Candidates

• Experience with GPU programming
• Strong understanding of modern object oriented design, inheritance patterns, and SOLID principles
• Experience implementing features aligned with C++ 17, 20, or 23 standards
• Experience with exploitation and analysis of OPIR, EO, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
• Advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
• Fluency in MATLAB, Rust, or Python
• Professional experience with Agile software development
• Active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
