Staff Software Engineer

This Staff Software Engineer role at Lockheed Martin focuses on maintaining and evolving MK41 Vertical Launching System software in Moorestown, NJ, with software leadership on a launcher program and ongoing SDLC and real-time embedded software work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify multiple MK41 Vertical Launching System software products in Moorestown, NJ for the Sensors, Effectors, and Mission Systems business.
• Serve as software lead for a prominent launcher program, delivering software for multiple applications within an overall suite.
• Provide technical team leadership, Earned Value and Control Account Management, frequent customer interactions, quarterly in-progress reviews, and risk and change management.
• Directly support software development activities as business conditions dictate.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC, software configuration management, real-time embedded software development, and software integration and test.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other major with applicable coursework.
• At least 9 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with or knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Demonstrated ability leading cross-discipline engineering teams.
• Experience with earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management techniques.
• Experience with cost estimating and proposal development.
• Software engineering experience, particularly with C++ and Java, and familiarity with real-time operating systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $113,900 - $200,905, with location-based adjustments. Specific figures vary by work location.

Location and Schedule

• Location: Moorestown, New Jersey (hybrid)
• Schedule: 4x10 hour days, 3 days off per week

Work Arrangement

Part-time remote telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their schedule remotely and part of their schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility; specifics will be discussed during the hiring process.

Security and Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US citizen for consideration. Clearance level: Secret.
