Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer will design and implement technologies across the eCommerce and Loyalty platforms, translating business requirements into scalable technical designs, mentoring junior engineers, and leading small development engagements. This onsite role is based in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

USD 115,905 - 120,905 per year

Role Summary

The position oversees the development of APIs and digital services that power eCommerce and loyalty experiences, turning high level requirements into concrete technical designs while guiding a team of engineers and driving smaller project efforts to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, debugs, and maintains software supporting new and existing applications (65%)
  • Develops, executes, and thoroughly documents unit and system level test plans (15%)
  • Proposes and designs changes to new and existing applications (10%)
  • Provides 24x7 production support for live applications (5%)
  • Participates in Agile methodology and ceremonies (5%)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of software development experience in an IT organization or equivalent educational background
  • 5+ years designing and developing RESTful APIs using .NET Framework or .NET Core and C#
  • 5+ years delivering software for e‑commerce applications
  • 3+ years working with a relational database such as Oracle, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL
  • 1+ years of experience with NoSQL databases (eg Cassandra, Mongo DB)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; trade school or equivalent work experience
  • Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with containers and orchestration via Kubernetes or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience implementing event driven systems using messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus
  • Develop and maintain REST and gRPC services for e‑commerce and loyalty applications with high quality, scalable, and performant code
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to interpret requirements and translate them into API specifications
  • Monitor and analyze API performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Write and maintain API documentation for developers and consumers
  • Mentor junior team members and seek guidance from senior engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to scope estimation and forecasting
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend developers to ensure seamless API integration
  • Deliver high quality code that meets customer needs, emphasizing simplicity, clarity, and testability
  • Provide application support, diagnose problems, and propose solutions for complex issues
  • Develop reusable software components to accelerate delivery
  • Adopt test driven development and integrate unit tests into development tasks
  • Maintain a strong link between code modules and overall application goals and business objectives
  • Stay current on relevant technology trends and apply them to your domain
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills in requirements gathering and new functionality design
