Solid-Works Designer / Developer
Job Description
Tecnico is seeking an onsite Solid-Works Designer / Developer in Chesapeake, VA. This role focuses on creating 3D assembly designs with SolidWorks and developing sheet metal parts and assemblies. You will work in a hands-on environment that emphasizes precise modeling, accurate interpretation of technical drawings, and adherence to shop safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop sheet metal parts and assemblies using methods such as 2D technical drawings, duplicating existing components, or creating items from photos, verbal directions, or hand sketches.
- Wear all required PPE when working in shop areas.
- Read and interpret technical drawings with accuracy.
- Be prepared to operate in environments that involve outdoor weather, high locations, fumes and airborne particles, and high noise levels.
- Maintain ergonomic posture by sitting and using hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach regularly.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, with assistance for weights over 50 lbs.
- Consume a workflow that includes stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, and crawling as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office applications and graphic design tools, including Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Minimum of 1 year of SolidWorks experience in a workplace setting, or high proficiency in developing sheet metal parts using SolidWorks.
- Some CAD experience with 2D drawings in DXF and DWG formats.
- Project management experience with demonstrated ownership of projects from concept through completion is a plus.
