Job Description

DS2 is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support Special Operations mission-critical software, with a focus on mission planning applications. This onsite role in Niceville, FL involves delivering feature-rich software through the full lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, testing, and continuous integration.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, deployment, and demonstration of feature-rich mission planning applications supporting Special Operations missions
  • Collaborate with the team to test, develop, conduct peer review, and continuously integrate changes into the shared code base
  • Perform research and produce reports alongside proof-of-concepts and prototypes for modern approaches to next-generation aviation mission planning
  • Continuously learn emerging technologies and programming tools to help keep both you and your team well-equipped

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field, plus at least 6 years of experience
  • Background developing mission planning applications for USASOAC, with a specific focus on supporting the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment
  • Hands-on programming experience using one or more of: C, C++, C#, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, or Typescript
  • Motivated, energetic approach with strong time management and the ability to prioritize to meet project timelines
  • Experience working with teammates both virtually and face-to-face to plan projects, seek or provide help on issues, and present solutions to clients
  • U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Windows Presentation Foundation for .Net Desktop Development
  • Experience with web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular
  • Any experience developing cross-platform applications using Kotlin Multiplatform or .Net MAUI
  • Examples of code or applications built by the candidate that can be reviewed
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with AI-Assisted software development workflows
  • One or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications, or other technical certifications

Citizenship and Background Investigation

You must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
