Software Engineer-Mid

General Dynamics Information Technology supports the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) from Fort Bragg (Fayetteville), North Carolina. In this mid-level role, you will design and maintain secure, high-performance backend systems that enable search and analytics, with a focus on supporting national security missions.

You will develop backend services and APIs/microservices, apply DevSecOps practices, and conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) across CAI and PAI datasets. This onsite position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.

What you’ll do

• Design and maintain data-driven backend systems for secure, high-performance search and analytics supporting U.S. national security missions.
• Build applications using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript; Streamlit is preferred for Python work, and React is used for JavaScript/TypeScript projects.
• Develop backend services for data ingestion and retrieval.
• Create APIs and microservices using Python Flask or FastAPI.
• Implement DevSecOps practices including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on CAI (Commercially Available Information), PAI (Publicly Available Information), and other datasets.

Required skills and experience

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript (with React) and Python.
• Proficient with Flask or FastAPI, and familiar with relational and non-relational databases including Postgres and Elasticsearch.
• Proficient with Git and SQLAlchemy, with basic support for CI/CD pipelines.
• Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance is required.
• 5+ years of related software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5 days on-site.
• Due to U.S. Government Contract requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible.
