Job Description

Anduril Industries is building advanced software for real-world battlespace systems, and the Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team plays a central role in turning cutting-edge algorithms into dependable, mission-critical capabilities. This Software Engineer position is based in Broomfield, Colorado (onsite), with opportunities to support core internal tools. For candidates with machine learning experience, the role also includes helping establish new ML infrastructure for system-parameter optimization and CI performance-regression detection.

Role summary

As part of the team, you will provide software engineering support for core tooling. If you have an ML background, you will contribute to infrastructure that improves how the team optimizes system parameters and detects performance regressions within CI workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Provide software engineering and development support for several of the team’s core tools
  • For candidates with an ML background, help stand up new ML infrastructure to improve system-parameter optimization
  • For candidates with an ML background, help stand up new ML infrastructure to detect performance regressions in CI

Requirements

  • Professional experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C++, or C, with a clear track record using these languages professionally
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, functional programming, and REST API design
  • Experience building low-latency or real-time software
  • Experience with software testing, including Robot Framework testing and integration test development
  • Comfort using AI coding assistants (Claude or Codex) as part of your day-to-day workflow
  • Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • TypeScript or JavaScript experience, including React and/or NodeJS
  • Experience with Python FastAPI
  • CesiumJS experience
  • Experience with faster-than-real-time (FTRT) simulation
  • Machine learning background (Master’s, PhD, or 2–3+ years of professional experience), particularly in:
    • Hyperparameter optimization
    • Anomaly detection
    • Explainable ML (e.g., Bayesian ML)
  • Experience building Slackbot integrations

Work spans cutting-edge algorithms and high-performance software for multi-target tracking, data fusion, battle management, autonomous robotic control, and mission planning.

Compensation

$165,000 - $218,000 USD per year
