Software Engineer

Dauch is hiring a Software Engineer for onsite work in Newton, NC to build applications and systems, support maintenance, and contribute to engineering solution design.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and enhance existing and new applications by analyzing current behavior and identifying modification and improvement opportunities
• Support new application development to meet customer requirements
• Monitor and identify software defects; recommend corrections for approval to maintain functioning application software
• Review software and infrastructure needs and recommend technical developments to improve software quality and better support users
• Perform fault isolation and resolution for complex challenges to limit impact and address issues quickly
• Produce accurate reports by collecting data from standard sources and entering it into standard formats
• Document “as is” and “to be” processes, including describing changes needed to migrate to the “to be” capability
• Implement improvements and provide feedback; use change management systems and protocols to deliver routine support services
• Interpret data and identify possible answers while navigating a wide range of processes, procedures, and precedents
• Contribute to engineering solution design, including defining the feasibility testing approach and supervising implementation to support solution development and validation
• Review existing operations within the area of work and support generating new ideas aligned to continuous improvements
• Perform product development and engineering activities using established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products
• Maintain and distribute project and program risk registers and issue logs to support risk and issue management
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing or a similar environment
• Experience with CAN bus communication
