Software Engineer
Job Description
Groundworks Operations, LLC offers a full-time, onsite software engineering role in Irving, TX, with a base salary range of $100,000 to $125,000 based on candidate experience. In this Senior individual-contributor position, you will design, build, and optimize software systems, including APIs and websites, while leading scalable cloud-based application and integration delivery. You will work in an Agile environment developing modern full-stack web applications and RESTful services, with responsibilities spanning testing, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and modernization with security in mind.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Build scalable APIs, web applications, and backend services using modern engineering practices.
- Translate user stories into well-designed, maintainable solutions.
- Apply best practices across clean code, modular design, secure development, and automated testing.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues, resolve defects, and support system reliability and operational excellence.
- Contribute to application modernization and technical debt reduction efforts.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data protection practices.
- Support monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance optimization.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Continuously improve technical knowledge by learning new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
- Collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams to deliver measurable business value.

- Understands modern software architecture principles including modular design and API-first development.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of application security fundamentals and secure coding practices.
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and resolving defects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; works effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Continuously improves code quality, performance, and maintainability.
