Software Engineer

Marathon TS is hiring a Mid-level Software Engineer for an onsite role supporting an enterprise/government program. You will help build secure, scalable REST services and enhance modern UI functionality, working across the stack in an Agile/Scrum delivery model.

This position is based at WP Air Base, OH (onsite), with a salary range of USD 130,000 - 135,000 per year. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (required) and TS/SCI eligibility, with all candidates needing to be US Citizens and eligible to obtain a DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test full-stack features using Java for REST APIs and Angular for the UI
• Build and consume RESTful APIs, integrating with internal and external services
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests, and deployments
• Write and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and UI tests, while supporting code quality standards
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to secure, maintainable, and performant solutions
• Use security-minded development practices and support DevSecOps and secure SDLC expectations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application and API layers, including defect triage and root cause analysis
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, manage work in Jira, and document in Confluence
• Produce clear technical documentation and operational runbooks

Requirements

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Java experience, such as building REST APIs with Spring/Spring Boot
• Proficient TypeScript and Angular for enterprise web applications
• Hands-on experience with Git and pull request workflows
• Experience with build and package tools, such as Maven/Gradle and npm
• Demonstrated API design and integration using JSON/HTTP best practices
• Practical Agile/Scrum experience using Jira and Confluence
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Familiarity with test frameworks including JUnit, Jest/Jasmine, and Cypress/Karma
• Knowledge of OWASP/secure coding practices and cloud/container fundamentals
