Job Description
The Weather Company is building commercial aviation products that help dispatchers and pilots make critical, time-sensitive decisions. In this hybrid role in Andover, MA (3 days per week in office), you will help evolve data-rich applications with high-performance visualizations, RESTful services, and responsive interfaces across a modern and established technology stack.
What you’ll build
- Full stack features across frontend and backend systems for aviation applications used by dispatchers and pilots globally
- High-performance, intuitive visualizations that turn complex weather and flight data into clear, actionable information
- RESTful APIs using Go and Node.js to serve real-time weather and flight data at scale
- Responsive, performant React frontends designed for demanding aviation operations environments
- Data storage and querying with MongoDB and SQL Server to manage large volumes of weather and flight data
- Continuity work on established products built on .NET/C# and SQL Server, helping maintain quality across the product portfolio
- Deploy, monitor, and manage services on AWS while following cloud infrastructure and security best practices
How you’ll work
- Use AI coding tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude) to accelerate development and improve code quality
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code focused on performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to raise engineering quality
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers in an agile delivery environment
- Troubleshoot production issues across multiple systems, minimizing impact to aviation operations
- Join a 24x7 on-call rotation after a structured ramp-up period to support system reliability and incident response

What you bring
- 1–5 years of professional software development experience with meaningful contributions to full stack applications
- Practical experience using AI tools (for example GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as part of your regular workflow for code generation, debugging, testing, or documentation
- Proficiency in React (or a comparable modern frontend framework) to build and maintain complex, data-driven UIs
- Backend experience in one or more of: Go, Node.js, or .NET/C#
- Working knowledge of both SQL Server (or equivalent relational databases) and MongoDB (or equivalent NoSQL databases)
- Solid understanding of REST API design and HTTP fundamentals
- Experience with Git-based version control workflows in a collaborative team environment
- A track record of writing readable, testable, maintainable code and taking ownership of quality
- Ability to work across multiple codebases and adapt to varying technology stacks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving issues in complex distributed systems
Compensation
$105,000 – $135,000 base salary. The final base salary may vary based on internal equity, the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
