Job Description

Based in Columbus, Ohio, this onsite Software Engineer role at Thomas & Reed, LLC offers the opportunity to shape software that centers on user experience. You will plan, design, develop, and validate systems and applications, advancing UX innovation while enhancing existing products and delivering cloud-based, internet-connected solutions to differentiate our offerings and boost customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning, architecture, implementation, and quality validation of software systems and applications with a focus on UX innovation.
  • Improve existing products and craft new solutions, especially within cloud-based platforms and connected tools.
  • Build intuitive, high-performance UX applications that drive product differentiation and elevate customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, and C++, with the ability to apply them across diverse development environments.
  • Experience in both front-end and back-end development, with a solid understanding of full-stack architecture and integration.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, with practical experience in iterative development and team collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient data modeling and access.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, enabling effective teamwork across multidisciplinary groups.
  • Capable of working independently, managing time efficiently, and prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience in GUI development using modern tools and frameworks, with a focus on usability and performance.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, ensuring secure design and implementation of software systems.
