Job Description

The Senior Software Machine Learning Engineer role is based onsite in Mountain View, California, and centers on building agentic workflows and scalable runtime infrastructure for AI agents. The position emphasizes close collaboration with researchers to translate AI research into production-ready features.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sophisticated agentic workflows that enable models to intelligently leverage tools and data to solve complex problems.
  • Engineer the runtime infrastructure to maximize speed and reliability, ensuring leading-edge models and features operate with minimal latency.
  • Collaborate with research scientists and product managers to convert AI research and user requirements into robust, scalable, and impactful features.
  • Design and implement testing and evaluation frameworks to benchmark performance, accuracy, and efficiency of agentic workflows, driving ongoing improvement.
  • Own the production environment, guiding debugging of intricate issues, improving system observability, and maintaining high uptime and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software or machine learning engineering.
  • 1 year of experience with one or more of the following areas: generative AI, large language modeling, reinforcement learning (sequential decision making), recommendation systems, or specialization in another ML field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software or machine learning engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience in an industry setting.
  • 3 years of experience coding with C++ or Python.
  • Experience building or using AI Agents and productionizing large language and multimodal models.
